I am doing postdoctoral research within the Future Climate for Africa (FCFA) project UMFULA (Uncertainty reduction in Models for Understanding Development Applications). My research investigates social-ecological factors influencing decision-making under climate uncertainty in Malawi. I particularly focus on local and regional stakeholders, using participatory scenario planning to explore future socio-economic pathways linked to locally relevant climate scenarios and impact models.

My research interests are social-ecological factors influencing equitable and sustainable use of land, water and natural resources in Southern African smallholder farming systems. My current focus is gender and decision-making, and the use and needs of climate information for climate change adaptation amongst smallholder sugarcane farmers in Malawi.
