Call for Abstracts: International Conference “MOVING BEYOND RISKS: Organising for Resilience”, which will be held at Hotel Golf in Bled, Slovenia, between 16th and 18th September 2015

The main aim of the conference is to bring together global academic expertise, policy makers and practitioners from High Reliability Organizing, Resilience Engineering, Critical Infrastructures, Risk management and Disasters for developing holistic responses to growing resilience problems.

Main conference topics are:

  1. Resilience and high reliability – theory for integrated practice (sub-themes can include HRO and NAT theory developments)
  2. Risk assessment and management
  3. Disaster risk management systems
  4. Natural hazards – empirical studies (floods, storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, etc.)
  5. Societal resilience and resilient human habitats (resilient communities, resilient cities, etc.)
  6. Reliability, resilience and information technologies
  7. Built environment (including safety and reliability in construction)
  8. Energy production (including nuclear, oil and gas, hydro, renewables, grid, pipelines, etc.)
  9. Transport and logistics infrastructure
  10. Financial sector (banking, insurance including infrastructure, macro and micro resilience, etc.)
  11. Healthcare infrastructure
  12. Fire-fighting (including prevention capabilities)
  13. Homecare (including management, disability, etc.)
  14. Infrastructure resilience planning
  15. Highly reliable and resilient organisations
  16. Sociology of reliability and resilience
  17. Communication for resilience
  18. Educating reliability and resilience

Submit your abstracts of 200-300 words, with up to 5 keywords, via the online portal https://login.beyond-risks-conference.eu/ by Monday 23rd MARCH 2015.

You should first create a new user account via the login link above. When providing information for your profile, please make sure to tick the box “Author” at the end of the form. This step will allow you to submit your abstract through the User home in the top link Menu. Then click the “New submission” button. The first step is to check off that submission hasn’t been previously published and to check off the copyrights notice. After doing that, click “save and continue” button in the bottom. The second step is filling in authors, title, abstract and keywords (you can copy and paste your abstract from a text file). After finishing, click “save and continue” button again.
