Total Remuneration Package

R535 221.00 / R676 637.00 pa

Grade 14

 

Benefits included in the Total Value of Remuneration Package Range (Pension, 13th Cheque, Medical Aid, Housing Subsidy& Locomotion) are payable in accordance with the rules/requirements of the respective benefit schemes and any revisions that may occur from time to time which may alter the Total Value of Remuneration Package. In addition other allowances may be payable (where applicable).

Job Purpose:

Contributes to the co-ordination, preparation and implementation of an Environmental Management System aimed at achieving sustainable development and protection of the Unicity’s environmental assets.

Key Responsibility Areas:

•Implements of the EThekwini Environmental Management Policy and other related environmental policies.

•Contributes to the preparation and implementation of an Environmental Management System.

•Contributes to the preparation of EM’s environmental input into provincial environmental management and implementation plans Contributes to the regular state of the environment reporting.

•Contributes to the council’s Local Agenda 21/ Local Action 21 programme.

•Oversees the preparation of environmental plans for specific areas or issues.

•Liaise with stakeholders and officials concerned with environmental planning and management matters.

•Oversees project implementation.

•Assists Manager: Policy Co-ordination and Implementation in the management of consultants.

•Assists committees in their deliberations where these may have an impact on the environmental management.

Essential Requirements:

•Honours degree in Environmental Management or an equivalent qualification.

•Valid motor vehicle drivers licence (Code EB).

•4 Years relevant experience.

 

Work sample and/or psychometric tests may be undertaken as part of the selection process

In addition to the basic salary reflected above, the Municipality offers a 13th cheque, housing subsidy (subject to certain conditions), normal pension benefits and generous vacation leave.
