Chief Executive Officer designate:

The Sustainable Seas Trust (SST) is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Chief Executive Officer designate who will work alongside the current CEO for a period of time with a view to taking over the full role. SST is a South African registered charitable trust, NPO and PBO with a mandate to undertake research, education, sustainability, socio-economic and environmental rehabilitation programmes in Africa, including helping Africa move towards zero plastics to the seas. Applicants should have at least a Masters degree, ten years’ experience in plastics and/ or environmental science and competence in financial management and planning. Head of Education:

The education team is addressing the educational needs of communities, educators, learners, and other stakeholders, regarding marine biodiversity and sustainability. The educators develop and use educational materials on the marine environment and its threats, particularly the threat of plastic pollution, as well as undertaking teaching, capacity building, and sharing with stakeholders throughout Africa. The goal is to develop resources that will be used by countries to assist in policy development and the establishment of curricula on different aspects of the marine environment and management of plastic waste. Applicants should have at least a Masters degree, and a minimum of seven years’ experience in environmental education or environmental project management with proven involvement in communities. Click here for more information on this position.

Duration: 1-year contract with renewal based on performance.

Start Date: As soon as  mutually agreeable in 2021.

Remuneration: Salary scales for this position will be provided on request.
