The 7th Garden Route Interface and Networking (GRIN) Symposium will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2025 (3 full days) at Villa Castollini, Knysna, South Africa. This symposium-style meeting aims to provide a space for sharing experiences and the latest insights from around the world related to the management, research and sustainability of linked human-nature, or social-ecological, systems.
We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for GRIN 2025. Please see the GRIN website for this year’s meeting themes, presentation types, and our abstract template, along with some other information.
At GRIN we have a plenary-session style throughout the symposium, so everyone gets to listen to everyone else’s presentations. Based on experience, we can accommodate approximately 50 presentations over the three days while still allowing for sufficient discussion time, which is a key feature of GRIN. To be included in the final programme, we will prioritise abstracts that are submitted by the deadline, span social and ecological dimensions (the social-ecological interface), demonstrate relevance to management/policy (the science-practice interface), and address a theme that is of interest to the GRIN community (see GRIN website for ideas). Keynote presentations (typically awarded 30 minutes) will be through invitation and/or selected from the abstracts received.
Abstracts should be submitted to Nerina Kruger (nerina.kruger@sanparks.org) by 31 May 2025.
The Abstract template is attached for your convenience.
