The School seeks a Research Coordinator to assist the NRF Chair in the successful implementation of the eThekwini-UKZN research partnership by coordinating all research activities related to the Durban Research Action Partnership (D’RAP).

The Durban Research Action Partnership (D’RAP) is a research partnership of the eThekwini Municipality’s Environmental Planning and Climate Protection Department (EPCPD) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting and coordinating research, ensuring general coordination and communication across the team, liaising with eThekwini Municipality, contributing to research, documenting progress and communicating outcomes of the partnership.

The line manager for this post will be the South African Research Chair in Ecosystem health and biodiversity in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape (SARChI).

Minimum requirements:
– Masters in Environmental Sciences/ Biological Sciences or a closely related field
– Evidence of experience in working with diverse stakeholder research teams
– At least one year experience in research project management and coordination
– A valid drivers’ license

Shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo a skills test.
