This full-time research-focused post (equivalent to Assistant Professor) is designed to identify academic leaders of the future and is part of the University’s long-term investment to further strengthen its academic standing as a world class University. The Rubin Foundation Charitable Trust has generously agreed to fund the creation of The Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business and the Rubin Chair in Sustainability in Business. The Centre and the Chair will be a cross-Faculty appointment between Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) and the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC). The Pentland Centre is an exciting opportunity to develop both cross-faculty collaborations at Lancaster and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

The roles of Lecturer in Sustainability will be joint appointments, with one post being focused within LEC and one in LUMS. The successful candidates will work closely with the Rubin Chair to take the ‘Sustainability’ agenda forward. The lectureships will support the role of the Centre, and work alongside the Rubin Chair in Sustainability in Business and foster collaborations so as to develop a world class venture. We welcome applications from excellent candidates in sustainability and business who will be mentored by the Director of the Pentland Centre.

The positons will involve no direct teaching or administrative load in at least the first two years after appointment (although tutoring, supervision and a small number of specialist lectures may be possible). In years 3-5 you will remain research focussed while undertaking some teaching duties to ensure appropriate career development. *Appointments will normally be made witn starting salaries in the range £33,242 – £39,685 but appointments may be made at a more senior level, including Senior Lecturer/Reader.
